Who we are
Our website address is: http://www.paulbramhall.uk.
Comments
When you drop a comment, we grab the info you enter in the form. We’re also on the lookout for spam, so we collect your IP address and browser user agent string.
If you’re using Gravatar, your email hash might be sent their way. Check out Gravatar’s privacy policy here: [Gravatar Privacy Policy]. Once we give the nod to your comment, your profile picture struts its stuff for the public to see.
Media
Uploading images? Cool! Just watch out for any sneaky location data (EXIF GPS) hiding in them. People visiting our site can download and peek at this info.
Cookies
Leave a comment, and you can opt into saving your name, email, and website in cookies. They last for a year, making your next comment a breeze.
Logging in? We’ll toss in a temporary cookie to check if your browser digs cookies. No personal data here; we toss it when you close your browser.
Editing or publishing an article? A cookie with zero personal data will hang out in your browser, showing off the post ID. It bows out after 1 day.
CAPTCHA
To keep the spam bots at bay, we’ve got reCAPTCHA on duty. It’s that extra layer of security asking you to prove you’re not a robot. reCAPTCHA may collect some info to verify you’re human, and it’s all about keeping our digital space secure. For more details on how reCAPTCHA handles your data, check out their privacy policy here: [reCAPTCHA Privacy Policy].
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how our content is performing and how visitors interact with our site. This involves collecting data about your device, browser, and the pages you visit. Google Analytics may also gather your IP address, but we’ve got it set to anonymise your data for privacy. This information helps us tweak our content to better suit your needs.
Here’s the deal: we’re not in the ad business. We don’t use the analytics data to sell products or serve ads because, well, we don’t have ads on the site. Your data is solely used to improve your experience here.
For the nitty-gritty on what Google Analytics does with your data, check out [Google’s Privacy & Terms].
Embedded content from other websites
We might drop some gems from other sites – videos, images, or articles. They play nice, but keep in mind these external links could scoop up data about you. Check out their privacy policies for the deets.
Who we share your data with
Need a password reset? Your IP address gets an invite to the reset email party.
How long we retain your data
Comments are forever friends; we keep them around for the memories. If you register, your personal info hangs out in your user profile. You can change, delete, or admire it anytime. Admins have a backstage pass to see and tweak that info.
What rights you have over your data
You’re in control. If you’ve got an account or left comments, you can request:
- Subject Access Request (SAR): Ask us for an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided.
- Right to Erasure: Request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This doesn’t include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To exercise these rights, or if you have any privacy concerns, reach out to us at [gdpr@paulbramhall.uk]. We’ll get back to you faster than a computer reboot.
Where your data is sent
Automated spam check? Yep, we do that with visitor comments.
